Ein Stadtspaziergang. Die Tage um den 1. November verbringe ich gerne in meiner Heimatstadt Lienz in Osttirol. Wettermäßig habe ich um diese Zeit von milden Temperaturen bei strahlendem Sonnenschein bis hin zum Wintereinbruch mit Kälte und Schneefall schon alles erlebt. Dieses Mal war es regnerisch, die Berge größtenteils in Nebel gehüllt und wolkenverhangen. Zwar fiel die geplante Wandertour dadurch sprichwörtlich ins Wasser, dennoch war ich viel in der farbenprächtigen Natur unterwegs. Ich lade euch ein, mich auf meinem Spaziergang durch das idyllische Städtchen zu begleiten.
A city walkI like to spend the days around the 1st of November in my home city Lienz in East Tyrol. Weather-wise I have already experienced everything during this time of mild temperatures with bright sunshine up to the onset of winter with cold and snowfall. This time it was rainy, the sky was mostly cloudy and the mountains covered in fog. Although the planned hiking tour literally fell into the water, I spent a lot of time in the colorful nature. I invite you to accompany me on my walk through the idyllic little town.

Von meinem Quartier am südlichen Stadtrand habe ich bei schönem Wetter einen guten Ausblick auf das Panorama der Lienzer Dolomiten. Der höchste schneebedeckte Gipfel auf dem Foto oben ist der Spitzkofel (2.717 m). Noch sind die Felder an der Grenze zum Nachbarort Amlach unverbaut, aber die Stadt dehnt sich immer weiter aus.
From my accommodation on the southern periphery of the city I have a good view of the panorama of the Lienzer Dolomites when the weather is fine. The highest snow-covered peak on the photo above is the Spitzkofel (2.717 m). The fields at the border to the neighboring village Amlach are still unspoilt, but the city continues to expand.
Bei meinem Spaziergang in Richtung Stadtzentrum komme ich beim Dolomitenstadion vorbei. Die Sportanlage wird als Leichtathletik-Stadion genutzt und ist Heimstätte verschiedener Fußballvereine. Auf dem Baum vor der Skater-Anlage wachsen sogar Turnschuhe. ;-)
On my walk towards the city center I pass the Dolomiten-Stadion. The sports facility is used as an athletics stadium and is home to various football clubs. Even sneakers grow on the tree in front of the skater park. ;-)
Ein "Bildstöckl" erinnert an die Hochwasserkatastrophen in den Jahren 1965/66, als die Flüsse Drau und Isel über die Ufer traten.

Ich spaziere über die Draubrücke, vorbei am farbenprächtig umrankten Gebäude der Martin-Luther-Kirche.

Am Sonntagmorgen ist der Hauptplatz in der Altstadt menschenleer. Lebendig wird es erst, wenn die Kirchenglocken die Gläubigen zur Messe einladen oder die ersten Kaffeehäuser aufsperren.
On Sunday morning, the Hauptplatz in the Old Town is deserted. It only comes to life when the church bells invite the faithful to mass or when the first coffee houses open.
Die Liebburg wurde am Beginn des 17. Jahrhunderts erbaut. Heute ist im ehemaligen Wohnschloss der Lienzer Grafen das Rathaus untergebracht.
The Liebburg was built at the beginning of the 17th century. Today the town hall is housed in the former residential castle of the Lienz counts.
Im Antoniuspark sind noch Reste der alten Stadtmauer aus dem Mittelalter zu sehen.

Die Isel, einer der größten Gletscherflüsse der Alpen, mündet in Lienz in die Drau. Beide Flüsse sind auf weiten Strecken beliebter Ausgangspunkt für Wassersport aller Art wie Kanufahren, Canyoning oder Rafting.
The Isel, one of the largest glacier rivers in the Alps, flows into the Drau in Lienz. Both rivers are a popular starting point for water sports of all kinds such as canoeing, white water paddling or rafting.
Etwas außerhalb der Stadtgrenze trifft man auf eine ländliche Idylle.
