Always following the sun
Lienz in East Tyrol registers more than 2,070 hours of sunshine per year according to the city's own website. Gaimberg, Oberlienz and Thurn, three municipalities of which are located on the sunny side of the Lienz valley floor, offer seven sun trails for adventure hikes with different thematic focuses.
So wandelt man auf dem Albin Egger-Lienz Weg auf den Spuren des über die Grenzen Osttirols hinaus bekannten Malers. Mehrere interaktive Stationen auf dem Kneippwanderweg machen mit den von Pfarrer Sebastian Kneipp propagierten fünf Säulen der Gesundheitsvorsorge vertraut. Von Balzen und Brüten, Vogelflug und Vogelzug und allerlei weiterem Wissenswerten über einige unserer einheimischen gefiederten Freunde informieren die sechs Stationen auf dem Vogelerlebnisweg.
On the Albin Egger-Lienz Trail you follow in the footsteps of the painter who is known also beyond the borders of East Tyrol. Several interactive stations on the Kneipp Trail introduce visitors to the five pillars of health care propagated by Father Sebastian Kneipp. The six stations on the Bird Experience Trail tell of courtships and breeding, bird flight and migration and many other interesting facts about some of our feathered friends.

Der Friedensweg soll ein Weg der Besinnung sein. Unterwegs trifft man auf mehrere mit einem Sonnensymbol gekennzeichnete Stationen, die zum Verweilen und Nachdenken einladen. Der Start ist bei der Erasmuskapelle oberhalb der Ortschaft Thurn.
The Peace Trail should be a path of reflection. On the way you will come across to several stations marked with a sun symbol which invite you to linger and reflect. The start is at the Erasmus Chapel above the village of Thurn.
