Natural yeast bread cafe in Chiang Mai, Khagee

November 2019 · 4 min read

Great cup of coffee, homemade goods and a nice view of the river doesn't sound too bad, does it? They got it all handled at Khagee Cafe in Chiang Mai..

Coffee has become one big part of my life. Pretty sure not just myself but a lot of you also. Especially, a few hours working on a laptop or even the whole full day, coffee sure is a best friend that keep you energised.

Last time when I was in Chiang Mai, I chose to stay specifically in the area close to Ping River, where I expect to have nice places along the it to work in most of the days. I just love to look at nice views or at least people walking by once in a while when I look up away from my laptop. I was asking some locals in the area combined with a bit of online researching, Khagee cafe seems to be one of those local favourites for a cup of quality coffee and maybe some sweets if you feel like.

Khagee Coffee

I have actually read some review online and Khagee was complained about is too acidic coffee. I was like, dude, 'Let's go..' I don't know if I'm a weird coffee drinker. I just don't like it straight bitter. I love it a bit sour (acidity) and a hint of sweet, no, not a bit of a sugar in my coffee.

Khagee serve a cup of iced Americano (70THB) quite interestingly. A small round shape white cup.. Like, pretty small compared to any other I have had. A few cubes of ice.. First sip, I already fell in love. Exactly how I like it.

Seems like the people there have the same taste, they only serve one type of coffee as seen. If you're a fan of acidity of like it real low, then I'm afraid you wouldn't like it here so much. Wait, there's more than just a great cup of coffee at Khagee, there are desserts homemade with passion.

Homemade Bread and desserts

Right in front of the shop. As simple as those few words. Sounds good, huh? That killin' marketing sentence which also the truth is sure catchy. Unlike many other stores where they just buy some items from other shops and sell just to have it along with the coffee, they make it all themselves.

I unfortunately didn't try all of them but I promise myself, next time in Chiang Mai, I will go back for more, a lot more. This time, I felt like something sweet and at the same time, I wanted to try their Natural yeast bread real bad so I guess, 'Cream bun (55THB)' is way to go.

A really nice texture of bread with a bit crisp from the outside. The cream was not too much and not so sweet. Not to exaggerate but again, I fell in love.

There are some other sweets to go along with coffee as well. Not that big of a variety and they have it just a few pieces of each kind.

Khagee is quite a small a minimalist cafe with a really chill vibes. Looking through the windows and if you're tall enough, the river is just right by it. It's nice to come for a quick great cup of coffee and a dessert of two.. I was expecting to work on my laptop there a bit but I guess, they have too little seats to spend a few hours.

I would totally be back <3
