Winter wonderland in Serfaus, my new home

December 2019 ยท 3 min read ยท Gemeinde Serfaus

Do you love the winter, pine-trees, mountains and snow? Have a look at my new town!

In my last post I promised you guys to share some snowy pictures soon, here they are! I moved recently to Austria ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡น for the winter season since I got a job here in the touristic wintersport town called Serfaus.

I decided my life needed some change after staying half a year in Holland because I felt like life wasn't moving forward to much and I got so much cravings for some new experiences, how much I enjoyed my time with my sweet friends in Holland, I felt like I needed more. And than I saw this job in Austria and well, now I'm here!

Serfaus is one of the famous wintersport towns with a large skiing area. I still have to fix my workersdiscount papers before I can get the skipas for a reasonable price, so I haven't been out there but I am pretty sure those pictures will come ^^

The moment I walked in I felt it was a magical place, the snow, the mountains, the cold air but still more sunny days than in Holland (sorry Dutchies for leaving you guys behind in that cloudy country) This town is definitely picture perfect!

Okay, it isn't gonna be anything like a holiday, I still have to work 48+ hours a week, but I am gonna try my best to make some time to learn a new skill, Snowboarding! Okay and I have to learn german...

I applied for this job, as a waitress, without knowing how to speak german so I am having some troubles communicating, but I know that part is gonna be okay since german and dutch is similar so at the end of April, I am not only a new experience richer, but also a new language hopefully!

From every point in town, you will have a good view over the mountains. The house I have a room in is in between my work and the piste, 5 minutes walking from each of them so it is perfect located, with a perfect view! My housemate has a balcony where we always have a coffee. I am so lucky I made already some friends here although I still feel a bit lonely and hope to find my spot a bit more.. Anyway, my house is on the right side at the picture below!
