YL Aus Trip#7 Lake Tyrrell

October 2018 · 3 min read · Victoria

Today I am going to share a private spot which is located at north Victoria, Australia.
Great view and just re-opened in Sep 2018- Lake Tyrrell.

Bendigo
As we need to drive almost 5hrs from Melbourne to Lake Tyrrell, Bendigo will be one of rest point in our journey! Bendigo is the forth large city in Victoria, Aus, popular gold mining location in the past. The town have a lot of historical building, walking trail and museum! Also, you'll see the old tram is still running on the road which is one of the prove of history of Bendigo.
We entered an alley, there are some boutique, cafe and restaurant with nice design :D photos below was my favourite part in the alley!

Lake Tyrrell
We arrived Swan Hill in the evening and stayed in a country club. Swan Hill is located at the boundary of Victoria and New South Wales, so we keep travelling between Victoria and NSW in that 3 days...haha.
The evening sky was so beautiful!

We went to Lake Tyrrell at the 2nd day morning of roadtrip. Before that, brave @minloulou went to see the sunrise at Lake Tyrrell!!! He took a really nice photo and I would like to share to you all :) I have already got his approval to post this photo!

As what I said at the beginning of this article, Lake Tyrrell re-opened in Sep 2018. Tourist left their rubbish there and lead to the pollution of the lake is one of the reason that prohibited from entering in early 2018.
SO, PLEASE PROTECT THIS BEAUTIFUL AREA BY MAINTAINING A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT, BRING ALL YOUR RUBBISH ALONG WITH YOU WHEN YOU LEAVE!

Lake Tyrrell is a salt lake, the best period to visit there is end of Sep. Mirror-like surface is one of the reason that Lake Tyrrell became famous! The lake is almost dry and most of the area became mixture of mud and salt. We walked around 30mins in the shallow lake and feet became dirty. Finally, we found a location that suitable to take photos in mirror-like style! The luckiest thing was nice weather with blue sky :D

Can you see my reflection?!

Lake Boga & Shepparton

Last day of road trip, we visited Lake Boga - a round shape lake near Swan Hill. You can find a number of aquatic activity at Lake Boga!

Then we stopped at Shepparton for rest on the way back to Melbourne. Just walked around Western park which next to Goulburn River, a well-developed park with wildlife area, exercise area, playground and gathering area with electric BBQ! Everyone looks enjoy and happy :) Also there is a large pond at the middle of park.

This is the last travels of my Australia trip, Thanks for your attention and support!! :)

Lake Tyrrell!

Bendigo

Lake Tyrrell

Lake Boga & Shepparton
