I always dreamed of visiting the mountains during the golden autumn - this is when the leaves on the trees turn yellow, red and orange. So when my friends started discussing hiking plans in October in mid-September, I was very happy. However, in the end, it turned out that we went on a mountain trail in early October, so the deciduous trees were only partially repainted, there was still a lot of green. However, this only emphasized the beauty of nature, as the yellows and reds looked even more distinct against the green. So I did not feel any disappointment, on the contrary I was very happy these days, it was one of my best hiking in the mountains.
And now about everything in order. Today, I will tell you about the beginning of our hike, before overcoming the first serious ascent and exit to the mountain plain. After we got our passes at the local branch of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (I wrote about it in yesterday's post), we drove a few more kilometers along a dirt road (there were 16 people so we drove four cars) and left our vehicles at yards of a local enterprise guarded by an elderly guard.
As soon as we left the cars, we walked up along the stream called the Grand Rososh. It was an ordinary mountain road (for the this locality), but only SUVs could pass it. We walked about 2 km and made the first halt and then had breakfast (because before that we went 5 hours in the night). It was very beautiful there. Here are some photos:
After breakfast, we took our backpacks on our shoulders and continued on our way. Then our trail turned into the woods, part of the road we walked through the woods. We found a Lactarius deliciosus there and immediately cooked it on fire to prove to some participants in our hike that this mushroom was delicious. Then we hit the road again, and then the ascent began, which I will describe the next time.
