Hello, my dear friends from the Steem planet:
Continuing celebrating my first year at Steemit, and despite the blackouts and Internet fails in Venezuela, here I am--
What a better way to celebrate such a happy anniversary than participating in the cool contest that week after week is curating by @worldcapture and which theme is you, and you, and you, and me... That is: we, the people.
I made this photo a midsummer night in Chuao, a paradisiacal village inhabited by descendants of Africans who are very pride about then cultural heritage, and which is protected by the mountains of Henry Pittier National Park, -located at the north of the Venezuelan state of Aragua-, and by the limpid waters of the Caribbean Sea. There, thousands of cocoa plantations are distilling a delicious treasure: the Chuao's cocoa which is considered one of the best in the world... There, generations after generations are distilling another invaluable treasure: the drums music and dance...
Chuao is located not so far from Caracas, but you can only get there by walking through jungle mountains or by sailing through the sea. In the ocassion I made this photo it was a very crazy thing because people was celebrating it traditional carnival, so you can imagine I passed my hollydays in a world full of joy, peace and music. To get most higher the adventure, my brother Leonel and I arrived to Chuao walking through the mountains from Choroni, a town that counts with a road which conecting it with Maracay, the state's capital. Its took more than 12 hours of trekking through very beautiful landscapes. The final part of the trek flows through Cacao's plantations and clear rivers. After those happy days we returned sailing. It was a unforgetable journey.
Here I mark with a red line the trek we made along the mountains between the town of Choronรญ and Chuao, called La Ruta del Cacao, The Cocoa Route.
Chuao's warm people, fresh beaches and rivers... and hot music are waiting for you.
