For animalphotography contest. Agama the lizard is thirsty too

– Oh, mom, mom, look, lizard! - I hear a Russian speech on the beach, where we came to swim in one of the hot days during the holiday in Cyprus. It's not the first day we've been here, so I'm not so surprised that there are a lot of Russians around. And it coincided that some of our tourists first notice a large noisy lizard that runs around the palm tree, carefully avoiding the curious views of people.

It's hot. We have more than once bathed in the sea and lie in the sun. Near the bar and several racks with shower. Immediately grow a few palm trees, which are found and lizards. They are almost not noticeable because the color of animals is perfectly camouflages them against the background of rough gray trunks of plants.

Several tourists are attracted by the attention and try to grab the phones and cameras to take pictures of a little miracle, but the lizard is smarter. She doesn't want to be disturbed and hiding.

First, I'm trying to run around with all the palm trees and catch the moment to shoot, but soon I realize that I can not keep up with the lizard. Many people took a couple of pictures from afar and lost interest in what is happening. I also decided to go back to the lounger and from afar to watch what happens next.

At first I did not see anyone, but hiding in the side, like a real hunter, closely watching the surroundings. Soon right next to the shower counter, on a wooden platform crawls the same lizard. I reach for the camera, but I understand that from here, from afar, I will make only medium-sized pictures. We should get closer.

Soon, after a few minutes of careful observation, I realize that attracted the lizard will go down. On the boards of the platform water flows down on the sand. The lizard carefully walked over there and licks the water a little language.

Very quietly, without making any sudden movements, I move closer. Well, around that no curious children, because they'd have spooked the animal. I slowly go down on all fours and with the camera ready to move closer to the lizard.

Here are the first pictures. They're pretty good, but what if you crawl even closer? Lizard sees me and watches me, not looking up from the watering. It's as if a mental agreement suddenly arises between us - I do not scare her, and she, so be it, allows me to take a picture of myself.

Taking more pictures. These turned out almost at point. I managed to remove the lizard on the zoom about half a meter! Wow! I have never received such close-UPS of a wild animal.

Calmly sipping water, the lizard slowly climbs on your palm tree. She is no longer afraid of me and even lets me take some more pictures while she is sitting on the tree trunk. At last, having cast me a farewell look, she leaves in one of cracks as if mentally having told Hello to all those who will see in my blog its portrait.

– Ой, мама, мама, смотри, ящерица! – слышу я звонкую русскую речь на пляже, куда мы пришли поплавать в один из жарких дней во время отдыха на Кипре. Мы тут уже не первый день, поэтому меня уже не так удивляет, что вокруг полно русских. И именно так совпало, что кто-то из наших туристов первым замечает крупную шуструю ящерицу, которая бегает по пальме, старательно избегая любопытных взглядов людей.

Сегодня жарко. Мы уже не один раз искупались в море и лежим загораем. Рядом бар и несколько стоек с душем. Тут же растут несколько пальм, на которых и водятся ящерицы. Их почти не заметно, потому что окрас животных отлично маскирует их на фоне шершавых серых стволов растений.

Несколько туристов привлечены вниманием и пытаются хвататься за телефоны и фотоаппараты, чтобы поснимать маленькое чудо, но ящерица хитрее. Она не хочет, чтобы её тревожили и прячется.

Сначала я вместе со всеми пытаюсь бегать вокруг пальм и ловить момент для съёмки, однако вскоре понимаю, что за ящерицей мне не угнаться. Многие люди сделали пару снимков издалека и потеряли интерес к происходящему. Я тоже решил вернуться на лежак и издалека понаблюдать за тем, что же произойдёт дальше.

Сначала я не увидел никого, но затаившись в стороне, как заправский охотник, внимательно слежу за окрестностями. Вскоре прямо около душевой стойки, на деревянной платформе выползает та самая ящерица. Я тянусь за фотоаппаратом, но понимаю, что отсюда, издалека сделаю лишь некрупные снимки. Надо бы подползти поближе.

Вскоре, после нескольких минут внимательных наблюдений ко мне приходит понимание, что привлекло ящерицу спустится вниз. По доскам платформы стекает на песок вода. Ящерица осторожно подошла туда и слизывает воду маленьким языком.

Очень тихо, не делая резких движений, я пододвигаюсь ближе. Хорошо, что вокруг нет любопытных детей, потому что они бы точно спугнули животное. Я медленно опускаюсь на четвереньки и с фотоаппаратом наизготовку придвигаюсь ближе к ящерице.

Вот и первые снимки. Они уже достаточно удачные, но что если подползти ещё ближе? Ящерица меня видит и наблюдает за мной, не отрываясь от водопоя. Между нами словно вдруг возникает мысленная договорённость - я не пугаю её, а она, так уж и быть, позволяет мне себя сфотографировать.

Делаю ещё снимки. Эти получились почти в упор. Мне удалось снять ящерицу на зуме примерно с полуметра! Вот это да! Я никогда ещё не получал таких близких снимков дикого животного.

Спокойно попив воды, ящерица неспешно забирается на свою пальму. Она больше не боится меня и даже позволяет сделать мне ещё несколько фотографий, пока она сидит на стволе дерева. Наконец, окинув меня прощальным взглядом, она уходит в одну из щелей, будто бы мысленно передав привет всем тем, кто увидит в моём блоге её портет.
