Birds, birds, birds .................

Birds, birds, birds .................

November 2019 · 2 min read

............... wherever you are in the world on can always rely on coming across birds. They always provide fabulous photographic opportunities. The best part is the variation of species living in the different climatic conditions in our beautiful world.

Like for instance our #featheredfriends in Antartica that are specifically designed to live in the harshest conditions and the coldest of the cold, like the Gentoo penguins who survive on a diet of krill.

Or the Giant Petrels that are strong seabirds that hunt the oceans and forage on land for their food.
Petrels are highly opportunistic feeders. Unique among procellarids, they will feed both on land and at sea; in fact, they find most of their food near coastlines. On land, they feed on carrion, and regularly scavenge the breeding colonies of penguins and seals. ... At sea, they feed on krill, squid, and fish.source

Then there is the common old pigeon that seem to inhabit every city in the world because no matter where I travel I can guarantee to see them. These hopeful pigeons were pecking for crumbs on the footpath in a city in Valparaiso in Chile.

And now I am back in the subtropics on The Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australian and how opportune to see the seagulls in action looking for their food. It was a fun late afternoon yesterday when meeting my old #featheredfriends on my surf beach. I was home and it felt good.

Cheers and Blessings
