Steem used to be the leading social blockchain, but differences about governance led to the creation of Hive that has since overtaken Steem in popularity.
TravelFeed started out as a dApp on Steem and to maintain compability for some TravelFeed accounts that are only linked to Steem as well as by the request of some users we continue to offer a limited Steem integration. However, while Steem seems to still be popular in China on Korea, almost all of the international (travel) community has moved to Hive, so unless you are posting in Korean or Chinese, there is little reason why you would want to create a Steem account at this point, but we leave the choice up to you.
