Axeman's Travelfeed #010 - Streets of Rehovot Part 2

September 2019 · 6 min read · Center District

Here we go with the 2nd part of visual journey through the streets of a quite a small city Rehovot in Israel. Shot during out latest vacation there last Spring and we have stayed at the house of the good friend of mine for a 10 days (travelling around Israel a bit too)

That day was one of the coldest with quite heavy clouds, but still partial sunshine and decision was not to sit at home, but to get quite a long walk around. The city map is still pretty easy with one main road going through all the city, so it is easy not to get missed

If at first part of the visual presentation was about the Street Photography as it supposed to be involving the people, the set below going to be more "Still Life". going into streets details, architecture and whatever else

So lets start from this nice small city park with a memorial

We have returned to this square after couple days for an art portrait photoshoot. But that's other story :) And actually not to this square only, but almost repeated our walking trip, since some nice location was spotted during first walk around
Now going back to main street with some nice and special and sometimes pretty funny details

At this point its time to sing the song "Here comes the Rain" Yes!!! We managed to catch this week of cold weather and got rain in April in Israel. Normally such a possibility comes somewhere to zero, but we was really lucky to get from rainy Baltic spring... to rainy Israel :D
Whatever, here is the proof... And we had to stay for maybe 20-30 minutes under the roof, just watching this strong rainfall....

Guess I have some photos on mobile.. or maybe even video. Need to look into
Lets go further with some details of local modern architecture. While the prices for flats even in Rehovot are just crazy (comparing to Lithuania), not talking about Tel-Aviv, there are pretty a lot of newbuilds and some districts still under constructions. So quite a handful of cranes all around. But of course not so many as in Dubai. UAE is a kingdom of cranes really

Just to understand, the city is pretty small. So all the walk away is only few kilometers and actually took maybe 3-4 hours of slow walking and staying here and there. So, after another not a long walk reaching next nice city park. Have to admit that the infrastructure is pretty developed at all those new districts and looks like closer to European standards

Making a round via the side street through another newly built district we reaching another point of recreation even with some water pool with red fishes in. We do not have those due much colder climate, so pretty unusual to see just under open air

Coming back and reaching the center of the city we are into narrow old streets again with old type or architecture - small one stairs houses all around. Passing by very interesting building of Sinagogue
