🏆 TRAVELFEED WEEKLY ROUND-UP #70

June 2019 · 4 min read

Welcome to today's Weekly Travelfeed roundup brought to you by @for91days.

Prague is so overrun by tourists but the winning article submitted to us using our travelfeed tag this week shows us that the city is still well worth a visit. Next we're taking you to Vienna during spring, the weather wasn't the best for the author's visit, but they made the best of it. And to be honest the low hanging clouds and the architecture does go hand in hand. And towards the end of their visit the sun came out again! And we're finishing up this round-up with amazing winter impressions from Iceland.

Please note - we are still in search for one more curator to cover a day or two a week. If you are interested, please contact us on discord (kindly find a link at the bottom of the page). Now let’s get reading!

Three BEST posts of the week

A quick recap - For the weekly round-up, we feature the best 3 posts out of the ones previously featured in the daily topic curation posts in the past week. The rewards will go to the first three places as follows: 1st place - 3 STEEM, 2nd place - 2 STEEM and 3rd place - 1 STEEM.

The 1st Place

Half day in Prague
written by @discovereurovelo

Let's begin with some general facts about Prague. It is the 14th biggest city in EU and the historical capital of Bohemia with a population of about 1.3 million people (2.6 million metropolitan area included). It is the fourth most visited European capital after London, Paris and Rome. Its rich history and outstanding architecture makes it a popular tourist destination and as of 2017, the city has received more than 8.5 million international visitors, myself included :).

The 2nd Place

My Spring Trip Photo's - Part 3: Vienna
written by @lion200

The Donauturm is the tallest structure in Austria and also belongs to one of the tallest towers in the world (at least in top 100). It is 252 metres tall and was constructed during 1962-1964 by an architect called Hannes Lintl. We were not very lucky because of the weather, but still managed to take some beautiful pictures from the tower looking at the city of Vienna. The entry was 14,50 euro for adults and 9,90 euro for children from 6-14 years old. So keep in mind that it's not very cheap :)

The 3rd Place

Winter in Iceland: Ice, snow and glacier Langjökull
written by @saunter

I have gathered a few photos showing Iceland from this white side. The photos come from various places, especially Snæfellsnes, the west and south of the island, as well as from a trip to the Langjökull glacier and into the ice cave in there!
