PUNTA RATA - A Beach like from a Fairy Tale [EN/DE]

Hello Steemians! I hope you had a good start into the weekend! As announced in the last article, I would like to present you another dream beach on the Croatian coast today, which I visited last week.

Hallo Steemianer! Ich hoffe ihr seid schon gut ins Wochenende gestartet! Wie im letzten Beitrag angekündigt, möchte ich euch heute noch einen weiteren Traumstrand an der kroatischen Küste präsentieren, den ich letzte Woche besucht habe.

The small village of Brela is located about 15 km from Makarska, the capital of this coastal region, and is best known for its landmark. It is the overgrown rock directly at the beach, which you can see on the cover image.

Das kleine Örtchen Brela liegt ca. 15km von Makarska, der Hauptstadt dieser Küstenregion, entfernt und ist vor allem für sein Wahrzeichen bekannt. Es handelt sich um den bewachsenen Felsen direkt am Strand, den ihr auf dem Titelbild sehen könnt.

The Brela Rock is located on the beach "Punta Rata". The beach itself is very quietly situated, only accessible via a pine forest and was still quite an insider tip until a few years ago. However, this has changed in the meantime.

Der Brela Felsen befindet sich am Strand „Punta Rata“. Der Strand selbst ist sehr ruhig gelegen, nur über einen Kiefernwald erreichbar und war bis vor einigen Jahren noch ein ziemlicher Geheimtipp. Das hat sich jedoch inzwischen geändert.

In 2004, it was voted one of the world's most beautiful beaches by the American magazine "Forbes". In the following years it also attracted more and more attention in other magazines and travel portals.

Im Jahr 2004 wurde er vom amerikanischen Magazin „Forbes" zu einem der weltweit schönsten Strände gewählt. In den folgenden Jahren fand er auch in anderen Zeitschriften und Reiseportalen immer mehr Beachtung.

I was here in 2011 already and immediately fell in love with "Punta Rata". The round, bright pebbles and the crystal-clear water, in which even small fish are constantly swimming between your feet, is actually hard to top and I think the photos speak for themselves. I admit that I was even more fascinated by the golden horn on the island Brač, but if you are looking for the most beautiful beach on the Croatian mainland, you will probably not find a place that fits this name better.

Ich war bereits 2011 hier und hatte mich sofort in "Punta Rata" verliebt. Die runden, hellen Kieselsteine und das glasklare Wasser, in dem einem sogar ständig kleine Fische zwischen den Füßen herumschwimmen, ist eigentlich kaum zu toppen und ich denke die Fotos sprechen für sich. Ich gebe zu, dass mich das goldene Horn auf der Insel Brač noch mehr fasziniert hat, wer jedoch den schönsten Strand auf dem kroatischen Festland sucht, wird wohl kaum einen Ort finden, auf den diese Bezeichnung besser zutrifft.

On my way home I drove along the famous, over 1,000 km long "Jadranska Magistrala". It is one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world, stretching from Slovenia to Montenegro on the eastern Adriatic coast. Views like this are not uncommon on the winding track and you actually want to stop all the time to take pictures.

Auf dem Heimweg fuhr ich dann noch ein Stück die berühmte, über 1.000km lange „Jadranska Magistrala“ entlang. Es handelt sich um eine der weltweit schönsten Küstenstanstraßen, die an der östlichen Adriaküste von Slowenien bis nach Montenegro reicht. Ausblicke wie dieser sind auf der kurvenreichen Strecke keine Seltenheit und man möchte eigentlich ständig stehenbleiben um Fotos zu schießen.

Through the Biokovo Mountains I passed further spectacular vantage points to the motorway in the direction of Zagreb and then on to Austria.

Durch das Biokovogebirge ging es dann vorbei an weiteren spektakulären Aussichtspunkten zur Autobahn Richtung Zagreb und in weitere Folge Richtung Österreich.
