I have good news, Steemians: Yesterday was the meteorological start of spring on the northern hemisphere already! 🙌 Well, many of you will probably not notice much of it yet and also at my home it's still very winterly. Nevertheless, I'd like to give you a brief insight into my travel plans for spring on this occasion!

Ich hab gute Nachrichten, Steemianer: Gestern war auf der Nordhalbkugel bereits der meteorologische Frühlingsbeginn! 🙌 Tja, viele von euch werden davon wohl noch nicht viel merken und auch in meiner Heimat ist es noch tief winterlich. Trotzdem möchte ich euch zu diesem Anlass mal einen kurzen Einblick in meine Reisepläne für den Frühling geben!

My current Mission/Meine aktuelle Mission

I don't think I have mentioned this in any post so far, but I have a big goal that I want to achieve as soon as possible. My aim is to visit all European countries! I follow the Wikipedia list, according to which 47 countries belong to Europe. I have visited 37 of them until now, so there are only ten left! In spring I will reduce the number of missing countries to six and travel to the following countries:

Ich denke, ich habe das bisher in keinem Artikel erwähnt, aber ich habe ein großes Ziel, das ich so schnell wie möglich erreichen möchte. Mein Ziel ist, alle Länder Europas zu besuchen! Ich halte mich dabei an die Liste von Wikipedia, laut der insgesamt 47 Staaten zu Europa gehören. Davon habe ich bis dato 37 bereist, es fehlen also nur noch zehn! Im Frühling werde ich die Anzahl der fehlenden Länder auf sechs reduzieren und folgende Staaten bereisen:

Serbia/Serbien

At the end of April I am planning a roadtrip to the Balkans which includes visiting two Serbian cities. I have already been to Serbia twice and have experienced the exciting capital Belgrade. This time the country's second largest city, Novi Sad, is on my agenda which I have heard a lot of positive things about. I will also visit Serbia's third largest city, Niš, which I am also looking forward to.

Ich plane Ende April einen Balkan-Roadtrip und werde dabei auch zwei serbische Städte besuchen. In Serbien war ich schon zweimal und konnte bereits die aufregende Hauptstadt Belgrad erleben. Diesmal steht die zweitgrößte Stadt des Landes, Novi Sad auf dem Programm, von der ich schon sehr viel Positives gehört habe. Außerdem werde ich Serbiens drittgrößte Stadt, Niš besuchen, auf die ich ebenfalls schon gespannt bin.

Kosovo

Kosovo is not internationally recognised by all countries as a state of its own, but by most. Peace has already come to this former crisis area and I would like to see for myself how the young state has developed so far. Therefore I will visit the capital Pristina and possibly other interesting places in the area.

Der Kosovo ist zwar international nicht von allen Ländern als eigener Staat anerkannt, jedoch von den Meisten. In diesem ehemaligen Krisengebiet ist inzwischen Frieden eingekehrt und ich möchte mir selbst ein Bild davon machen, wie sich der junge Staat bisher entwickelt hat. Dafür werde ich die Hauptstadt Pristina und eventuell noch andere interessante Orte in der Umgebung besuchen.

Macedonia/Mazedonien

This country has been on my wish list for a long time and now I will finally visit it. I am particularly looking forward to the capital Skopje, which is said to offer beautiful architectural contrasts of old and new. Probably I will also make a trip to Ohrid in the south of the country, which is beautifully situated at a lake. The city of Bitola also seems to be interesting, but I will be a bit spontaneous in deciding my exact route.

Dieses Land steht schon lange auf meiner Wunschliste und nun werde ich es endlich besuchen. Ich freue mich schon besonders auf die Hauptstadt Skopje, die vor Allem architektonisch schöne Kontraste aus alt und neu zu bieten haben soll. Voraussichtlich werde ich auch einen Ausflug in den Süden des Landes nach Ohrid machen, das wunderschön an einem See gelegen ist. Auch die Stadt Bitola soll interessant sein, ich bleibe bei der Festlegung meiner genauen Route jedoch ein bisschen spontan.

Bulgaria/Bulgarien

The last country I'm going to visit on my Balkan road trip has also been a desired destination for me for a long time. I will definitely explore the capital Sofia in detail. Which other places will be added, I will decide on short notice. If the weather is fine, even a trip to the Black Sea would be an option!

Das letzte Land, das ich auf meinem Balkan-Roadtrip besuchen werde, ist ebenfalls schon seit langem ein Wunschreiseziel von mir. Auf jeden Fall werde ich die Hauptstadt Sofia ausgiebig erkunden. Welche weiteren Orte noch dazu kommen, entscheide ich erst kurzfristig. Falls das Wetter passt, wäre sogar ein Ausflug ans schwarze Meer denkbar!

Kazakhstan/Kasachstan

Yes, a part of this Central Asian state is officially part of Europe too. I got a super cheap flight to Astana for only 128€ (return) in the middle of May. As a friend of modern architecture, I'm especially looking forward to the capital. Afterwards I will go by domestic flight (also very cheap: 57€ return) to Almaty, the largest city of the country, which is said to have a lot to offer. Above all, I am looking forward to a trip to Charyn Canyon, which is called the little brother of the Grand Canyon and has so far been unaffected by mass tourism!

Ja, auch dieser zentralasiatische Staat gehört offiziell, teilweise noch zu Europa. Ich habe für Mitte Mai einen supergünstigen Flug nach Astana erwischt um nur 128€ (hin & retour). Als Freund moderner Architektur, freue ich mich besonders auf die Hauptstadt. Danach geht es per Inlandsflug (ebenfalls supergünstig: 57€ hin & retour) in die größte Stadt des Landes, Almaty. Die Stadt soll auch sehr viel zu bieten haben. Vor Allem freue ich mich auf einen Ausflug zum Charyn Canyon, der als kleiner Bruder des Grand Canyon bezeichnet wird und vom Massentourismus bisher noch verschont blieb!

So now you know the travel reports you can expect from me in the next couple of months. I think there might be one or another destination on my list that many of you haven't read anything about yet.
