Travel Digest

#1 Hiking Adam's Peak little brother in Ella

First, we hike Little Adam's Peak, Sri Lanka, with @steef-05. Adam's Peak is very popular with pilgrims since it is supposedly the place where Adam's feet touched Earth for the first time. Nearby is Little Adam's Peak, which has the same shape as Adam's Peak but is lower down, and provides a 360-degree view of the entire area. The first part of the hike is easy and leads through some tea plantations, but it does get a bit harder higher up. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat but don't expect a breeze to cool you down at the top.

#2 Let's travel together #91 - Cheile Turzii (Turda Gorges)

Next, we explore the Turda Gorges, Romania, with @gabrielatravels. This UNESCO listed, protected area is an important natural monument. The 3km long journey though 200m high stones and gorges is home to 1000 different plant species, animals and butterflies. There are many onsite, natural attractions including walking trails, waterfalls and over 200 climbing routes that lead to lots of lesser-known tourist attractions. Be careful walking after rain as some paths are narrow and the rocks are slippery.

#3 Taking a Break on Two Islands

Finally, we visit two of Iran's islands—Qeshm and Hormuz—with @pushpedal. There are various natural attractions scattered around Qeshm. This includes some interesting geological formations like Star Valley, and the smaller Naz island, which is accessible by foot at low tide. Be careful camping on Qeshm though, as locals will bother you all night long. Better camping spots can be found in the peaceful Statue Valley on Hormuz. Be sure to visit the Mountains of Red and White for a Mars-like experience while you're there.
